Upcoming Theme Parties for Kids!

This summer Kathy's Pumpkin Patch is pleased to offer a variety of themed parties for kids ranging in ages from 3 to 12 years old! We will also be hosting a mother/daughter event this summer!

Judy Fett, known as "Grandma Judy" has been hosting theme parties for her grandchildren and their friends in the Donnellson area for the last 5 years. We're excited to announce that Judy is now our "party planner" coordinator. We're glad to have her energy and innovation to help create our Summer Patch Theme parties for 2010!

All parties will be held on Saturdays-from 11:00 until 1:00 or from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. An adult (18 years or older) must accompany each child for the duration of the party. Reservations are required for each event. You may reserve a spot for your child/children by calling 319-470-1558. Party "spots" will be filled on a first come/first serve basis. We ask a $10.00 reservation deposit payable when you book your party. This fee may be refunded up to 3 days before the party if your child is unable to attend. The final payment is due at the time of the party.

After the first party, we will offer a 10% discount for children attending multiple parties during the summer season. We will also offer a 10% discount for each sibling that attends an event during the same season.

Saturday, July 3: Garden Fairies
Suggested ages 5-10 years old
2:00-4:00 p.m.

Spend a whimsical time lunching under our enchanting outdoor garden trellis. Enjoy the fragrance of our potted gardens, but walk softly due to our mischievous, unpredictable fairies!

Our “fairy food” menu will be:

• Crisp Vegetables picked fresh by our own garden fairies and served with tasteful sauces for finger dipping (No double dipping please!)
• Light & Salty Chips with our own delicious dip
• Charming Cheese Sandwich with pleasing parsley served on multi-grain bread
• Fanciful, Delectable Fairy Dessert

Twinkle-Toes Punch will be served as a summer afternoon pleaser.

After our luncheon, the children can participate in our “pixie” crafts. They will be creating several take home fairy gifts and mixing our own special recipe fairy dust.

Suggested “fairy attire”: hair flowers, flowered leis, tiaras, gloves, ballerina dress-up, or any dress up gowns. And as the head fairy tells us—there is never too much bling! Glitter is her favorite color!

July 10—Lee County Fair—No Parties

Saturday, July 17: “Evening in Paris”
Suggested Ages 10+
2:00-4:00 p.m.

Step back in time to the late 19th century. Our arbor is transformed to a comfortable yet opulent vintage Parisian dress shop-decorated in a European array of flea-market and shabby sheik architectural finds, draped in yardages of elegant fabric and beautiful tulle. You will lose the stress of the day and relax as you watch the sunlight bounce off our brilliant and dazzling beaded chandeliers.

We will be offering a decadent Parisian Chocolate Buffet for your pleasure.

What more could a young lady want than to lose herself in exquisite chocolates and classic fashion! After indulging yourself in both, we are hoping that the girls will take part in our style show and walk the runway of “Fashion Fling of Gay Paree”. We are sure that the paparazzi and the flash of cameras will only highlight this elegant affair. We promise this event will be everything that a young fashionista could want.

Elegant attire requested: jewels, tiaras, hats, gowns, boas, lots of Glitz! There is no such thing as “too much”!

Saturday, July 24: Builders of the Future
(Make and Take a Toy Wooden Tractor)
Suggested Ages 4+
2:00-4:00 p.m.

Create a special one of a kind toy tractor made from solid wood. We supply the tractor kit—and with just a little help, and some glue you’ll have a great toy! Like John Deere green or IH red? Or maybe Kubota orange? We’ll supply all the paints and brushes so you can make your tractor really unique. Each child will receive a Master Craftsman Certificate showing that they are the designer and builder of their own tractor.

While the paint dries we’ll take a wagon ride pulled by our own DX International tractor and check out the pumpkin fields and any wildlife around the farm ponds.

We’ll make plenty of time for a snack of Chocolate Haystack Cookies and Moo Juice!
